Overview

Most people get stuck being angry online. This one-day intensive walks you from “this is wrong” to a specific, data-backed ask delivered to the person who actually decides. You'll scope a vague grievance down to one issue, one decision-maker, one data source, and one deadline; pull real data.gov datasets and run real statistics on them without writing a line of code — learning which of eight methods answers your question, then directing an AI sandbox to run the Python while you keep the judgment. You'll package the finding into a one-pager and one honest infographic that survive a staffer's 30-second skim, bring a number that can't be spun away, and build the coalition and 90-day campaign that make your mailing list outlast you. Public data is leverage — this is how you use it.

Where This Class Leads

What you leave able to do

  • produce an account of who can grant what you are asking for
  • produce an explanation that survives a hostile reading
  • classify visitors into segments by observed behaviour
  • classify which statistical method answers the question you asked
  • parameterise a finding into one page a stranger acts on
  • measure whether an explanation changed what people did
  • design a turnout that converts agreement into attendance

How you show it. The number who agreed, the number who came, and what you changed between one event and the next in response to that gap.
