Overview

Everyone has the drawer: old phones, an old laptop, a tablet nobody uses — all still signed into live accounts, some still approving login prompts. And most people can't say whether their laptop is encrypted, whether updates are really installing, or what has permission to use the microphone. So we stop guessing. We install Multiverse Device Rescue — an open-source diagnostic toolkit that runs locally and read-only — and let it tell you the truth about your machine. Then we fix what it found. The report never leaves your computer; it's read in your browser and thrown away. You leave with proof rather than a checkbox you ticked, and with that drawer finally dealt with: wiped, de-registered, and removed from your accounts' trusted-device lists. Can't install it? You do the same checklist by hand and reach the same place.

Where This Class Leads

What you leave able to do

  • follow a device hardening checklist
  • locate a substitute part when the named one is unavailable
  • repurpose a retired device into a working server
  • migrate your work off a subscription without losing it
  • design a household security posture for people who did not choose it

How you show it. A posture in place across at least three people who did not set it up, and one protection that held when someone did the wrong thing anyway.
